Editing

Quit that endless searching for an editor. I now offer in-house editing, a precursor to my KDP Book Publishing!

The copyedit focuses mostly on accuracy and the mechanics of writing. We will make a strenuous effort to ensure your writing is smooth and comprehensive for the reader.

We offer the following types of edits:

STRUCTURAL & DEVELOPMENTAL

  • How does the overall narrative flow together?
  • What are the character motivations?
  • How does each paragraph develop, and how does the narrative flow?
  • Is it too short or inadequate?
  • Does it ramble in circles with no clear direction?

LINE OR COPYEDITING

  • Is the grammar messy?
  • Any repetition?
  • Spelling mistakes?
  • Accurate punctuation?
  • Do the nouns, verbs, and adjectives conflict in your sentence?

PROOFREADING

In a proofread, we evaluate for any mistakes, errors, or inconsistencies before you decide to publish.

WHAT WE NEED TO GET STARTED

  1. A 15-min Zoom call to go over the types of editing you require. Please use our booking link to schedule.
  2. Your Word or Google Doc (English only)
  3. A $10 non-refundable consultation fee is required prior to discussing your editing project. If you choose to move forward with the project, this $10 will be applied as a credit toward your final bill.
    Editing is billed at a rate of $0.01 per word, with the total project cost calculated based on your manuscript’s final word count. Once the editing process is complete, you will receive an invoice for the remaining balance.

TIMELINE

Please allow 4-6 weeks for completion (could be sooner, depending on the editor’s queue of work in progress). We will reach out to you if we have any questions during the process.
